Community & Sponsorship

Ross Cycles has sponsored many events and clubs since opening in 2005

The longest sponsorship has been the Caterham Rotary Bunny Fun Run 5K & 1K  which started in 2008. Bunnies need to bond, and when Ross was faced with a life sized English speaking standing bunny rabbit in the shop, he had to sponsor the event. To this day in 2025 he still doesn't know who was in the costume, but has sponsored every year since regardless -  because it was and still is such a good community event!

Moving into 2011 there was a new opportunity with Sutton Sports who had already been busy organising the Beddington Park 10k and subsequently sponsored by Ross Cycles, to create a Kenley Aerodrome 10K Race. Ross Cycles sponsored the race and it was a success however the organisers had problems with insurance and facilities and so it was only held twice.

2013

When a regular customer and Caterham Round Table member mentioned a new Caterham Beer Festival, Ross immediately sponsored a Beer Barrel and the ebb and flow has continued ever since. Post pandemic there is an afternoon entry with catering and an evening session too. A live band performs on one of the evenings and there's games, prosecco and craft too.

2019

There were murmurings of a new beginners running club starting up in Caterham on instagram. AJ's Run School was born with Alix and Jo pulling runners and new runners together.  After the pandemic Ross decided to sponsor AJ's and currently sports logos on all of AJ's start/finish flags.

Ross has always sponsored local community events over commercial ones.
